The Morean Arts Center Welcomes Captain Sully to St. Petersburg!

The Morean Arts Center is happy to continue its partnership with local organizations in and around St. Petersburg, Fla. With a myriad of engaging and educational activities, there are plenty of opportunities to connect people with the community and contribute to the economic development of the region.
On Sunday, January 15, join The Mahaffey Theater for an evening with Captain Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger for a special presentation, 208 Seccaptian-sullyonds: A Lifetime of Lessons. Captain Sullenberger was flying a United Airways jet out of New York’s LaGuardia Airport on a cold day in January 2009, when a bird strike caused the failure of both engines. All 155 souls on board were rescued after Sully and his crew safely guided the aircraft to an emergency water landing in the Hudson River.
Sully, touted as one of the greatest American heroes of our time, reminds audiences even in these days of conflict, tragedy and uncertainty, there are values still worth fighting for – that life’s challenges can be met if we’re ready for them.
