The Chihuly Collection is now open at its new location on Central Avenue. Experience works by Dale Chihuly known only to St. Petersburg. Enjoy walking through the new space, which includes a theater and premier retail store.morean_%20millefiori_tr

Currently, Exquisite Corpse International is on display in the temporary exhibit. Pieces of figures are “pieced” together, with each section created by a local artist in their area of expertise.

Major Mud Revisited (January 14 – February 26, 2017) – Known for exhibiting painting and drawing, the Art Club of St. Petersburg displayed the first sculptural work in 1958, the 30th year of that organization. Journey: Photographs on the Way to a Destination (January 14 – February, 2017) – World renowned National Geographic photographer Sam Abell returns to the Morean to jury an exhibition that focuses on photography and community.

20 Years of Word & Image (January 20 – February 26, 2017) – The third installation. Reception is scheduled for Saturday, February 11, from 3pm – 5pm.

Color My World (November 12, 2016 – January 31, 2017) — A solo exhibition of work by Beth Morean.

Florida Heat Woodfire SOLD OUT (January 3 -10 2017) — The Morean Center for Clay anagama kiln was built in 2002 under the tutelage of Don Reitz.  Join us as we spend three days loading about 1.000 pots into this 500 cubic foot wood kiln and another 4-5 days firing around the clock. Unloading of the wood kilns will take place on Tuesday January 17th.

 

 

 

Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop

Demonstrations now available: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Sunday demonstrations are hourly from 1pm-4pm

Personal Glass Experience Watch, learn and participate with your very own personal glass experience in the Hot Shop! Hot Shop Close Up

HOT DATE in the HOT SHOP (Jan. 6, 20; from 6pm-9pm) – Each couple receives a hands-on experience culminating in one piece of glass (a solid sculpted paperweight or a blown-glass ornament).

Ladies Night (Select Fridays; from 6pm-9pm) Get out of the house for an evening with the girls!
