The Chihuly Collection

The Chihuly Collection is now open at its new location on Central Avenue. Experience works by Dale Chihuly known only to St. Petersburg, accompanied by a theater and premier retail store.

The Garden is now open to those who purchase tickets to see the Collection. Experience an oasis in the heart of the Central Arts District.

Yoga @ the Collection (Sunday, March 5, from 10am-11am) Bring a mat and enjoy yoga in the Garden at the Chihuly Collection. Cost: $10 at the door. The Collection will not be open.

Spring Break Camp (Monday-Friday, March 13-17, 2017) — Children ages 5-10 will explore a variety of mediums. Art projects will have a springtime theme (think flowers, colors, and butterflies).

Fresh Squeezed: Emerging Artists in Florida (March 11-April 30) — True to its mission of connecting people with art, the Morean invited emerging artists from across the state to vie for space in this exciting group exhibition. Selected artists will create site-specific installations in our galleries, as well as participate in talks and connect with local collectors.

Emerging Artist Talks in March: Marium Rana (Thursday, March 23, at 7pm) Barry Goodman  (Thursday, March 30, at 7pm)

PCCA Senior Thesis Exhibitions (March 11-April 30) — See works from emerging artists who are all seniors in the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School.

Florida Heat: Surface Design Exhibition (February 11 – March 31) — An exhibition in conjunction with the Florida Heat: Surface Design workshop series. Nationally recognized demonstrating artists include Matthew Metz, Linda Christianson, Sam Chung, Carole Epp, Meredith Host, Thaddeus Erdahl, Adam Field and Ben Carter.

Joe Pintz Hands on Workshop (March 30-31) –  Pintz’s functional and sculptural ceramic work explores the role that domestic objects play in fulfilling our physical and emotional needs.

Friday Night Clay (Every Friday night, by registration) — Come play in clay, including wheel throwing or hand building for 2 hours of fun! Every Friday night from 7-9pm. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

 

Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop

Demonstrations now available: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Sunday demonstrations are hourly from 1pm-4pm

HOT DATE in the HOT SHOP (March 3, 17, 31; from 6pm-9pm) – Each couple receives a hands-on experience culminating in one piece of glass (a solid sculpted paperweight or a blown-glass ornament).

Personal Glass Experience Watch, learn and participate with your very own personal glass experience in the Hot Shop!

Ladies Night (Select Fridays; from 6pm-9pm) – Get out of the house for an evening with the girls!
