Collagraph Printmaking with Barry Goodman

Sundays, 6 classes
Beginning March 4
1:00pm – 4:00pm
Skill Level: All Levels

Collagraphs are an accessible, very affordable and safe printmaking technique that can produce some very unusual and exciting results. The printing plates are made with non specialist materials using textures to create a unique plate that holds the ink. Collagraphs are printed using an etching press.

This course is a perfect introduction to this intaglio technique, and will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to develop, experiment and produce your own plates.

Perfect for newcomers or returners and certainly for those with previous Collagraph printmaking experience.

Print on Fabric with Saumitra Chandratreya

Saturdays, 6 classes
10:00am-1:00pm
Beginning March 10
Skill Level: All Levels

Screen printing is a quick, fun, intuitive way of creating an image on fabric. The students will arrive at these images through analogue, low-tech methods of screen printing. Through demonstrations and active class participation, the students will learn methods of screen printing using stencils, mono-printing and direct dyes. The instructor will facilitate studio time as part of the class where the students will get to learn the above mentioned methods and work on their projects. The students will use visual research to arrive at the images they want to craft as their prints. Through visual and conceptual enquiries the students will arrive at their final pieces by the end of the class session, with tangible printed fabrics or products.
