Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and with raku, there’s lots of both. American Raku has been called short attention span theater for potters. There is no faster way to get a finished piece than raku. However, that doesn’t make it easy. Martin Bimler has been firing raku since 2012 and is ready to share with you the tips, tricks, and special knowledge he has gathered in his years of experience.

Among the topics covered will be:
-Firing and kiln safety
-Glazing and glaze mixing
-Reduction in can and kiln
-Fuming
.
BRING YOUR BISQUEWARE. You will be firing from week one! The size of the class determines how many pieces you will get to fire. Please bring or wear long sleeved shirts, long pants, and closed-toed shoes.
 .

Cost (3 classes):
Member $120
Non-Member $135
