Move your flower pictures beyond records of successful blooms to impressions of color, form and light, using a variety of creative techniques with both cameras and software. Discover what happens with extremely shallow focus, intentional motion blur, and multiple exposures. Explore light by working with light boxes and windows in a simple studio set-up. Challenge yourself at a local botanical garden. Learn ways to take your photographs to a different level of expression with this class.
Once filled with gold and silver miners and hundreds of people harvesting borax, Death Valley is diverse and historical with dozens of spectacular places to photograph. Students will attend a pre-trip class to prepare for this adventure and a post-trip class to critique images. While there, Reynolds will share her expertise in documenting this unique landscape and students will have 2 critique sessions onsite.
