Mondays, 6 classes
Skill Level: Beginning/Intermediate
Winter Session 1 (Jan.7 ,14 ,28, Feb. 4, 11 and 18) NO classes Jan 21 for MLK Day
Art experiments gets your creative energy flowing. Students will create work in a variety of art forms;drawing, painting, sculpture, bookbinding, printmaking, and possibly paper making in this class series. One purpose of this class is to allow students the opportunity to explore what classes they might want to pursue in greater depth. Some projects will be a single class while others will build over several weeks. Most materials will be furnished. Bring paper and pencil for sketching ideas.
During this session we will discover layers of color. Materials will include color pencils., water based paint, & pastels. Bring what you have; others will be there to try. We will play with wet media color abstractly and then discern what the next step will be using pastels or color pencils. We may collage or cut and weave to turn the color parts into a whole new piece of art.
