with Dean Fortune

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Offered for:
Summer Session 1 Start Date Pushed Back (May 31, June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 5 and 12)

How do you separate the person from the costume? We will consider the expressive aspect of fabric and costume when drawing the figure. Is drapery just a passive wrap of a naked body or is it as important as the figure itself in communicating to your viewer? Come and see how the figure has been clothed by various artists, always keeping in mind the underlying figure. Join us to explore the Mexican Muralists, Matisse, Max (Peter), and Many More. What is the different emotional response to their styling while still keeping in mind the mechanics of fabric. Join us for more fabric and figure fun.

Some drawing experience needed to get the most from this class. Intermediate to Advanced level.
