Explore three different glass mediums through concentrated instruction from our visual arts faculty. Try out new ideas, learn the language, and explore various processes while exploring all possibilities of glass.
Glass Camp Daily Schedule
Glassblowing (Mon & Tues)
Chihuly Collection Field Trip (Wed)
Lampworking (Thurs & Fri)
Glassblowing: Campers learn basic vocabulary, scientific principles, hot shop safety, and will either sculpt a solid form or blow an air-filled glass ornament.
Fused Glass: Campers will learn the art of fused glass (cutting room-temperature sheets of glass into various shapes, assembling images out of cut glass pieces--finished objects will be placed into a high temp kiln to fuse).
Lampworking: Campers will work with a small torch flame to create round beads, stringers, and lots more!
Field Trip to Chihuly Collection: Campers will view this renowned American glassblower's first ever permanent collection! Bring your camera!
Maximum number of students per week is 5.
