On the Surface: Clay Decoration
Who should submit? The Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking artists working in clay who utilize surface decoration techniques including, but not limited to: Mishima, sgraffito, slip trailing, underglaze, resist, decals, carving and luster. The On the Surface exhibition will coincide with the Florida Heat: Surface workshop, held at the Train Station Center for Clay. Florida Heat: Surface is a workshop showcasing ceramic artists from around the country and is being organized by Ben Carter. It will focus on low, mid and high fire clays.
How do we choose? Submissions will be reviewed by the Morean's exhibition department.
When will artists be notified of acceptance/non-acceptance? by December 2, 2013
What are the exhibition dates? January 11 - February 23, 2014

Other info: If selected for the exhibition, the artist is responsible for round-trip shipping of his/her artwork. All work should be for sale, and the Morean will retain a 40% commission on works sold during the exhibition.
