My name is Scott Lukacs and I create art and tattoos in St. Petersburg. I've been a professional artist for approximately 10 years all over the east coast. Through living in different areas of the country and staying open to local influences, I have found my own style and process for creating my art.
The theme of my artwork is mostly based on images found in traditional Americana style tattooing as well as the Japanese Edo period woodblock prints. I work primarily with liquid acrylics and water color because I find these materials to closely resemble tattoos. These are techniques that tattoo artists have used for decades to paint the flash that you see on tattoo shop walls. Artist influences in my work would be Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Sailor Jerry Collins, and Ed Hardy just to name a few.
