Special News:
1) “Eat Rich, Play Dirty” tickets are now on sale through www.MoreanArtsCenter.org or by calling Guest Services at 727-822-7872. Tickets are $100 each. Eat Rich, Play Dirty, from 7 PM to 10 PM Saturday, Sept. 19, is Morean Arts Center’s annual signature fundraising event, held at Morean Center for Clay. Ticket includes a tantalizing night of live music, decadent food, delicious drinks and a lot of fun, hands-on activities.

2) Cast your vote online for Morean Arts Center which has been nominated for the “Good ‘Burger” Award sponsored by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce: http://www.stpete.com/?page=2015GoodBurgerVoting

Morean Arts Center & Gallery (719 Central Avenue):
August 3: 9 AM to 3 PM – Summer Camp “Week 9” starts for Art campers ages 5-15. Pre-registration required.
August 7: 6 PM to 8 PM – “Ladies Night at the Hot Shop” adjacent to Morean Arts Center at the corner of 1st Avenue North and 7th Street. Cost is $75. Pre-registration is required. Ladies take home what they create (after the glass art cools in a few days).

August 8: 10 AM to 4 PM – Adult Workshop (1-Day session): “Linoleum Block Printing Basics.” $80 for Morean Arts Center members; $95 non-members. Pre-registration required.

August 8: 5 PM to 9 PM“Second Saturday ArtWalk” featuring a Carter Venture gallery talk from 5 PM to 6 PM. Admission is FREE to all Second Saturday ArtWalk venues and to the Carter Venture gallery talk at Morean Arts Center. Carter Venture, AKA local emerging artist Darren Beistle, won “Best of Show” at the 2014 Morean Arts Members’ Show and is rewarded with gallery space to showcase his work through August 21. Morean Arts Center’s “97th Annual Members’ Show” runs thru Aug. 21.

August 10: 9 AM to 3 PMSummer CampWeek 10” starts for Art campers ages 5-15. Pre-registration required.

August 12: 12 PM to 1 PMTampa Bay Rowdies players visit Summer Art Campers during the Week 10 Summer Camp session. Players will educate the children about the importance of education, nutrition and playing sports, and may also kick around a soccer ball with the boys and girls campers during this fun annual visit.

August 13: All Day“One Day at the Morean” program honoring Richard Jacobs, local lawyer-turned-world traveling nature photographer. Every day we open our doors (363 days) it costs $10,000. These VIP donors help secure the future of Morean Arts’ mission to connect the community with art.

August 14: 3 PM to 5 PM“Summer Camp Art Exhibition Party” featuring artwork from boys and girls representing the first 10 weeks of Summer Art Camp.

August 15: 12 PM to 3 PM – “The 5th Annual Great St. Pete Cupcake Contest” to determine the city’s champion professional and novice cupcake artists. The fundraiser is SOLD OUT to cupcake artists, but the public is invited to vote for winners. Each vote cost $1. Proceeds help fund Morean Arts Center’s operations.

Morean Arts Gallery is open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday and 12 PM to 5 PM every Sunday. FREE admission. City Pass booklets and St. Pete Arts Experience combo tickets for the Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop and The Chihuly Collection are sold daily at the Guest Services

The Chihuly Collection (400 Beach Drive NE):

August 1 through August 30: 10 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday and 12 PM to 5 PM on Sunday – Seattle-based husband-wife glassblowing artists Lisa Zerkowitz and Boyd Sugiki present “A Duet” at The Chihuly Collection. The couple is known for their beautiful glass beach balls, which are now on exhibit at The Chihuly Collection.

The Chihuly Collection is open from 10 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday and 12 PM to 5 PM on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office or online at www.MoreanArtsCenter.org. A “St. Petersburg Arts Experience Ticket” is a combo ticket for both The Chihuly Collection & Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop and is the best value for our guests who want to experience both attractions.

Morean Center for Clay (420 22nd Street South):

August 7: 7 PM to 9 PM “Friday Night Clay.” This fun adult-oriented evening allows friends and family to create their own clay art. Just bring a favorite drink (alcohol such as wine and beer is allowed), a towel and a sense of humor. Cost is $25 per person. Pre-registration required.

August 8: 5 PM to 9 PMMorean Center for Clay celebrates “Second Saturday ArtWalk” with its annual “Members’ Show” (Free parking and admission) and a potluck dinner for members and non-members. Note: Potluck attendees must bring their food in-or-on a piece of artwork created by them, whether it was during a class or made at home. Bring your sense of humor and prepare to have a night of fun.

Morean Center for Clay is open 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday and always offers FREE PARKING and FREE ADMISSION.

The Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop (corner of 1st Avenue N & 7th St):

  • Note: The Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop is CLOSED every MONDAY through September. Daily hours are 12 PM to 5 PM Tuesday thru Sunday.

Daily Glassblowing Demonstrations are 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets for each demonstration can be purchased online at www.MoreanArtsCenter.org or at Guest Services.

We recommend a St. Pete Arts Experience combo ticket for a visit to both The Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop and The Chihuly Collection to provide the best value for our guests. Our Hot Shop Theater can comfortably seat 75 guests.

For guests who really want an up-close encounter to learn how to blow glass, we offer a memorable “Personal Experience” for $75 per person. Personal Experiences last 30 minutes and give guests a unique 1-on-1 experience with a professional glass artist. Guests can take home their beautiful glass creation in a day or two or have the art shipped to their home if they live out of town. Personal Experiences can be booked in person or over the phone via Guest Services or online at www.MoreanArtsCenter.org. Experiences are at 12, 12:30 & 5, 5:30 PM

Hot Shop August Special Events:
