Fall Session 1 Classes Start Labor Day Week!

The session runs from September 5 through October 16 with classes offered in the following mediums:

Who Can Take Classes?

Classes are offered for all skill levels with specific classes geared toward youth and teens. Patrons have the opportunity to learn from talented artists in a studio/workshop setting equipped with everything needed to create a work of art in as little as six weeks.

New Fall Class: Beginning Darkroom with Lance Rothstein:

New to the Fall Session 1 lineup is Beginning Darkroom with Lance Rothstein open to all skill levels. The class is on Thursdays from 7pm-9:30pm. Students will photograph with cameras and learn the art of processing film and printing silver gelatin photographs. Rothstein is a native Floridian and professional photojournalist whose photos have been featured in Time Magazine, The Miami Herald, Sports Illustrated and the New York Post.

Unique mediums and classes are also offered at the Morean including metalworking where basic skills in Metalsmithing are taught while being introduced to equipment, materials, tools, studio safety and basic design.

Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop:

Head on down to the Hot Shop next door to the main gallery and learn Glass Blowing with the talented Jeremiah Jacobs. Basic vocabulary, hot shop safety and drills are taught, and students learn to make blown objects and solid glass sculptures in the center’s state-of-the-art facility.

Morean Center for Clay

Looking to get your hands dirty? The Morean Center for Clay offers a chance to learn the art of wheel throwing with local and internationally known artists who call the Morean Center for Clay home. A few classes include:

  • Tiles and Murals

ART SNAP: An Evening of Lampworking with Elise Berry Glass-Beadmaking-Evening-150x150

Friday, August 26, from 6pm-8pm

If you’re unable to commit to a six week class, ART SNAP is a quick and easy way to get an art fix without committing to a standard class. Drop in and create art in a snap with no commitment but plenty of fun!

An Evening of Lampworking is this Friday, August 26, from 6pm-8pm. It’s a great date night idea or night out with friends! Using a torch and a 3,000 degree flame, melt colored glass and apply some easy designs when you try your hand at lampworking glass beads. Demonstrations are provided and an instructor will be there to guide you through the process. If you can’t make this Friday, this ART SNAP is also offered on Friday, September 9 or 23 from 6pm-8pm.
