Fall Session 2 Classes Start October 24!

Are you a budding or seasoned artist? Join the Morean Arts Center beginning October 24 for the start of Fall Session 2 Classes with options for all skill levels.

Classes Offered in a Variety of Mediums:

The session runs from October 24 – December 4 with classes offered in the following mediums:

 

Who Can Take Classes?

Classes are offered for all skill levels with specific classes geared toward youth and teens. Patrons have the opportunity to learn from talented artists in a studio/workshop setting equipped with everything needed to create a work of art in as little as six weeks (select classes available in a 3 week format).

 

New Fall Session 2 Class:

New this session in fiber arts! Hang out with Sara Norine Thursdays from 6pm-9pm beginning November 3 for Yarn Art, and get your fingers moving while mastering the art of Felting, Plying, Weaving, Macrame, Knitting and Crochet.

 

Unique Opportunities:

reflection_-lance-rothstein-300x293Journey into digital photography with our popular photography classes: Photo Genesis with Bob Croslin, Beginning Darkroom with Lance Rothstein, and The Motion Class with Beth Reynolds. Learn about your digital camera, computer and how to utilize Adobe Lightroom with Bob Croslin. Take it old school and learn the art of processing film and printing silver gelatin photographs with Lance Rothstein on Thursdays from 7pm-9:30pm. Please note, The Motion Class with Beth Reynolds begins on October 18.

Mixed Zen Journaling with Olivia Thornton

Friday, October 14 or 28 from 6pm-8pm

Join our two-hour workshop for sharing, journaling and creating together!

Altered Book Me with Olivia Thornton

Friday, November 4 or 18, from 6pm-8pm

Begin this workshop by repurposing a favorite, old book! Use watercolor paint and various other media to create personally significant journal-type artwork unique to each artist.

Friday, November 11 or December 9, from 6pm-8pm

No need to bundle up in layers and go out into the cold to make these snowmen! Come craft using tube socks, rice, and decorative materials to make these adorable little guys.

 

Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop:

719 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Head on down to the Hot Shop next door to the main gallery and learn Glass Blowing with the talented Jeremiah Jacobs. Basic vocabulary, hot shop safety and drills are taught, and students learn to make blown objects and solid glass sculptures in the center’s state-of-the-art facility. Offered Wednesdays from 6pm-9pm.

Morean Center for Clay

Looking to get your hands dirty? The Morean Center for Clay offers a chance to learn the art of wheel throwing with local and internationally known artists who call the Morean Center for Clay home. A few classes include:

  • Beginning Clay Sculpture
  • Tiles and Murals
