St. Petersburg, FL (Sep. 5 ,2019) – The Morean Arts Center and Morean Center for Clay will host several classes ranging from Anime to photography, and painting to wheel throwing this fall. They will also host FREE family art opportunities on Saturdays and Sundays during the School Year.

LinkedIn® , the self-proclaimed largest professional network in the world named Creativity the number one soft skill in demand by employers in 2019, and Inc. Magazine named it in the top 3 in demand skills projected for 2020 outpaced only by critical thinking and problem solving. Research completed by the Brookings Institute earlier this year recognized the positive impact of arts education in a controlled trial study while citing the decline in the proportion of students receiving arts education.

“The value of arts education in the development of children goes beyond these studies and career planning experts,” said Howayda Affan, Executive Director of the Morean Arts Center. “Exposure to the arts and the conscious exploration of creativity transcend cultural boundaries, build awareness of global context, empower participants with new tools for self-expression and result in enhanced awareness and emotional intelligence,” added Affan. “That is why we are committed to offering programs for youth and teens that are scheduled for after-school and weekend hours.”

Youth and teens may participate in 6-week course offerings that begin the week of September 9. Pre-registration which begins at $110 for Morean Members and $125 for the general public for 120 hours of studio instruction is required for the following:
