BURN: morean street party

St. Petersburg, Fla. – Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19 as the Morean Arts Center takes over 7th street, the Chihuly Collection, Morean Arts Center and Morean Glass Studio in partnership with the SHINE Mural Festival.

BURN is a unique event, showcasing the best of the Morean Arts Center, the heat that fires clay, metal and glass and casting a spotlight on a once overlooked form of artistic expression, street art. All proceeds will support the Morean’s mission of connecting the community to art through outreach and education.

This brand-new addition to the SHINE Mural Festival will help illuminate the power of art in public spaces as well as bring talented street artists into the Morean galleries. Guests will see interactive art throughout the evening, featured works by street-style artists BASK, JUJMO, Daniel Lloyd-Miller and Kodi Thompson, and live glassblowing in the dark at the Morean Glass Studio.

A special KREW ticket offers an elevated experience with exclusive access to the Chihuly Collection and other VIP experiences including a live performance by O Som Do Jazz in the Chihuly Collection Native Garden.

“The Morean continues to be at the heart of the arts scene of this vibrant city. BURN is a street party that truly celebrates the wonderful arts community that the Morean has been supporting since 1917. It will be an interactive experience that is fun for everyone,” said Howayda Affan, Executive Director of the Morean Arts Center.

The event will be held in Downtown St. Petersburg from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., taking over three facilities operated by the non-profit arts organization. Live music, food trucks, body painting, fire dancing, amazing live and silent auction items, interactive fun and more. Attire is suggested as “Artsy Chic,” meaning absolutely anything from semiformal to casual and even costumes of your favorite artist or work of art.

Tickets for BURN: morean street party are available now at the Morean Arts Center (719 Central Avenue or 727.822.7872) and online at Tickets start at $50.
