St. Petersburg, FL (Saturday, October 26, 2019) – The Morean Arts Center will host the Fall Art Frenzy on Saturday, October 26th from 10 am to 2 pm. The opportunity to view gallery exhibits and participate in child-friendly interactive art experiences is $1 for children age 5 to 10 and $2 for adults. Morean Arts Center Members are FREE.
The hands-on activities are planned for youth and the young at heart. Costumes are encouraged for all participants. Planned activities include:
Halloween Face Painting – Have your face painted by one of our artists
Rainbow Pumpkin Crayon Melt – Create stunning multicolored pumpkins
Halloween Photo Op – Have a portrait done (in your costume) with Mr. Bones and Captain Morean
Trick or Trunk with Henrietta the Elephant – Ring the bell, give a peanut, and get a treat from this friendly elephant
Potter’s Wheel Pumpkin Demonstration – Artist Doris Conner mesmerizes audiences while creating clay pumpkins
Halloween Masks – Create a mask that all of your friends will envy
Bubble Wrap Autumn Trees – Colorful autumn trees painted using bubble wrap
Spooky Cookie Decorating – Use your imagination while designing your very own spooky cookie treat
Creepy Goblin Door Hang – Make a creepy and scary (or nice) goblin to hang on your door
Fall Leaf Collage – Using various colorful paper, create a leaf collage
Attendees can also explore the Morean Arts Center galleries featuring exhibits including “You can feel what we see” art created by visually impaired students of Pinellas County Schools, the mural art of emerging artist Jujmo featuring fantasy creatures in a sherbet colored world and the 20 Year Respective of mural icon BASK. They can also explore the street art inspired clay sculpture of Kodi Thompson and the plein air paintings of St. Petersburg scenes created by Daniel Lloyd-Miller.
