The Morean Arts Center offers a number of FREE children’s and family art programming throughout the school calendar year. One of the most popular opportunities is the Saturdays at the Morean make-and-take drop-in art program for children ages 5 to 10.

The teachers of Saturdays At the Morean, Miss Sherri and Miss Maddie, are releasing their next Storytime and Art video on May 16 at 10am on their YouTube channel. This week Miss Sherri and Sophie tell us a fun story about bees and Miss Maddie guides us in an art project on making a fun pocket puppet bee of our very own!

In March the mother and daughter dynamo began delivering their programming online. They have reached children as far away as France and an estimated total audience of 1,519. The Saturdays at the Morean season will be ending on May 23.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to binge-watch and catch up on Saturday hijinks and fun art projects!

Children working on the art projects at home are encouraged to have a grown-up help them take a photo of their creation and share it with the audience.  The online art gallery of children’s work will be updated weekly.

The Morean Arts Center has launched a number of FREE opportunities to keep engaged with Art online.  For artists and creators seeking inspiration there is a daily “Prompt” challenge featuring themes randomly selected from the Dictionary. The art work created in response to the daily prompts is being collected online and a displayed collectively. The gallery exhibits of the Morean, always FREE to the public have been video recorded for virtual sharing.
