During this workshop, students will learn about the ins and outs of collage. They will gain knowledge of different types of adhesives, papers, scissors, and creating collage without cutting or pasting, along with different objects they can collage on to. They will use the collage materials provided to create a handmade collage utilizing any of the methods taught during the workshop. I will emphasize the importance of using recycled paper and materials to create collage to reduce the amount of wasted paper in our world. We will discuss the different functions of collage from fine art, street art, expressing emotion, and collaborative collage making. We will utilize a range of art supplies to make our collages, such as stamps, different tapes, and many types of paper, including vintage, specialty, and magazine papers.
